Yesterday I went to the Marines office, took some aptitude test, and found out I was eligible to enlist. That shit got me nervous as fuck. All the men in the office were impressed because most people didn’t last that long in the office. I kept trying to tell my recruiter that I probably wanted to join the Air Force instead. I know his job is to get me to enlist in the Marines. Anyway I’m going to call an Air Force recruiter and talk about enlisting now, that way I can get into DEPS, go to bootcamp after I graduate, but here’s the thing; I’m going to be active duty. I’ll have to deploy and take night classes for college. And I think I’ll miss the first semester at the actual college I want to go to. But at the same time I’m earning more credits(than what the normal college student earns), and I’m pretty sure that while I’m enlisted I can be in ROTC as well because I initially wanted to become an officer. Oh, and of course my college will be paid for and housing, and all that other stuff… This is most likely what I’ll do.
